The Collector of Chinease Dialect Folksongs
A graduate of Mass Communication and Film, Chong Keat Aun is now with multiple roles with the RTM Ai FM radio programme planner and host, action artist, community Art Project preserver, Petaling Street Art House curator and writer. He has been enthusiastically involved in the collection of all Chinese dialect folksongs and heritage across nationwide in Malaysia at his own cost for the Chinese dialect folksong radio programme, including the collate of Minnan Folksongs. He is also the author for few books on Chinese dialect folksongs. In year 2011, his radio programme has won him the “Seri Angkasa National Award”, Best Male Radio DJ, and he is the first Chinese broadcaster to obtain this honour in the Malaysian history.
