What is TEDx?
About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection within a small group.
These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TEDxPetalingStreet is the first Chinese spoken event in Malaysia. This was a vision shared by those who believed that the art of story telling is further refined if conveyed in native mother tongue. More so, if the stories evoke positivity, passion and creative ideas that transform the speaker’s life.
TEDxPetalingStreet hope to spread the word out by gathering many talented Malaysian with such of these stories and give them an opportunity to spread their ideas and passion with others.
A TEDxSalon event is an intimate affair, like a dinner party with people who are like minded, like yourself. It is a half day event unlike a full day TEDx event, it allows better interactivity with the speakers – with Q & A after each session, whilst stimulating conversations on a personal level and forms a stronger bond. It also keeps the TEDx community engaged between regular TEDx events.
TEDxSalon will giving each speaker 18 mins to share their ideas & also open the discussion session to audiences.
